Series Samples: All Together Now!

And finally, the pieces all together.

This was for the poster competition at the recent NESCBWI Conference in New Hampshire. The theme was "Take Flight," and you could do anything, as long as it fit on a 20" x 20" poster. I wanted to do a sequence of pieces with a narrative instead of one single image. There was some really awesome work in the competition.

I'm thinking of doing a series sample each Wednesday... it's a great excuse to work up new ideas (...won't drag it out as long as this one, though!)

Wow Jennifer! You should do more sequential stuff! This is amazing! It flows so well. Maps and comics!
I tagged you on my blog, I need a typical day....

Thanks so much, Eric! I am going to do more-- it really got me thinking more in storyteller mode, which was good.

Oh my-- a typical day... okay, I'll play! (Hope it won't bore everyone though...) ;-)

You are very good at the story telling part even without the words that I know is a forte of yours too.

That is a great idea, to do that every wednesday.. I'll visit to check it our for sure. Well that's if you plan on posting it. If not.. I'll visit anyways :o)

Very creative! And nice job developing a story with no words. My kids have a book called "The Gift" and it is a good story with no words.

Thanks, Carli!

And thanks, Alicia! Yes, I think I will do that. It almost makes it easier to have themes to certain days, too.

Thanks, Diana!

Thanks, Tom! I love wordless picture books, too.

Looks great, I knew it would. You mean you had this all finished since before that conference and you were stringing us along?
Cool find with the robin babies.
and yes, I am still singing can I have a napkin please with my daughter. She likes it as much as I do.

A W E S O M E !!!!! So cool...you have just inspired me. This reminds me of the animated United Airlines commrcials in a way....like a storyboard, too.

Thank you, Lisa! I really appreciate your comment.

And Frank-- well, not exactly all done... are ya mad? ;-)

By the way-- the robin babies were gone as of yesterday... I wasn't sure they were big enough yet, but I guess so. Hope there was no foul play...

That song really is an ear-worm, no?

Kate-- Thanks so much! I get inspired looking at everyone else's work, too. Boy, this sounds geeky, but what did we do before the internet??
