Smugglers Notch sounds intriguing, you have to wonder how it got it's name....although on the same note, i'd be a little hesitant to drive through Killington on my own... LOL

Been a bit rainy this year. BUT the good side to the rain is that usually means a stunning Autumn Leaf-peeping season. Come visit. : )
Smuggler's Notch is exactly what you think, 200 years ago and during Prohibition the forest on the mountains and the caves and caverns along the Long Trail were used to transport illegal or embargoed goods across the Canadian border...Now Killington, I'm not so sure of...

We went to Smuggler's Notch years ago... it is BEAUTIFUL, if you ever get a chance to go. Yeah-- names are funny things! :-)
