Gem in the Catch-Up Pile

"...it’s important to keep in mind that in publishing, just as in love, you can’t correctly interpret silence and reticence." –David Small

While catching up on post-vacation blog reading I was thrilled to come across this interview with David Small over at Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast. One of my favorite illustrators.

Thanks for the link, Jennifer. Dare I say it, but I had never heard of him until now. Will have to check out some of his books at the library.

I think I need to get caught up on all the well-known illustrators, but like you say, there just aren't enough hours in a day to do everything one wants! :P

Oh yes, check him out, Tom. He combines a wonderfully expressive line with color. So loose, and so well-composed.

I spend more time in the kids/YA sections of the library than my kids do! It's self-education. Does take time though. But it's research! :-)
