Here's a really rough sketch.
When I was a kid I pretty much
only drew horses. In elementary school I had a wonderful art teacher who was endlessly patient around my obsession. If we were doing collage, I'd make a horse. Painting? A horse. Working with clay? Why, I'd make a horse, of course. I think my teacher, in his wisdom, let me be creative with my passion rather than squashing it at such a young age.
Thanks, Mr. Fay!

Woaw! I love this sketch!! So much movement in those lines!! Yes, it sounds like that was a great teacher :o)
Thanks, Alicia! Yes, he was a gem. I'll bet he'd be tickled that I'm still drawing horses. :-)
It looks as if the horse is going really fast......
Nice that you remembered your art old teacher.
Mine was called Vivian Cooke -who used to say
"You're left handed
I'm left -handed
and so was
Leonardo da Vinci"!!!!
Hmmmmm..........
Wow, Elizabeth-- now THAT's what I call encouragement!
Great sketch! Nice perspective. I love viewing the action from above.
There is nothing better than a teacher who lets their students be creative.
It does look like this horse is going pretty fast.
That is pretty good for a rough sketch! :) That teacher sounds awesome!
Thanks, guys!
And thank you, Dawn-- glad you stopped by! Yes, teachers like that are priceless. It's wonderful how they stay with you through your life.
