5 O'Clock in the Morning*

Even my mother wouldn't say "Oh how nice dear" to these sketches. But 5 o'clock in the morning is the time to get down and dirty with ideas. With summer here, the kids home, and plenty of reasons to be distracted from work, quiet time is at a premium. I don't want to lose momentum.

*Note to self: Okay it is early but remember to write legibly enough so you can decipher your brilliant scribbles later.

I find my best ideas come early in the morning, often when I am still half asleep; sometimes I look at them at a later date and can barely remember putting them down - that's why I sleep with a sketchbook next to my pillow!

Great idea, Gretel. I love those half-asleep ideas... sometimes they feel like movies playing in your mind... all you have to do is sit back and watch. :-)

Ahhh the inevitable balance of having the kids off for the summer. It is a juggle! Good luck with it all and thanks for sharing your sketch page.

Thanks, Lisa. It IS a juggle! Not sure why I thought it would be less so when they got older...
