State of the Studio

I'm having a hard time coming up with words lately, since my brain is in total-overdrive-drawing mode. Also, doing a lot of standing and sketching. It's much easier on the spine. I'm a complete Miss Cranky Pants if I sit and work all day. (Note to anyone starting out in this field: Don't skimp on good ergonomics!!)

It's a good thing I don't mind standing, since somebody likes to call my chair her own.

Here's a peek at a sketch for the new book I'm illustrating:

SUPER excited about this one.

Hi Jennifer! You're right--standing is so much better. The new sketch looks fantastic. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks, Dana! Glad you agree... it seems to keep the energy high, too. :-)

Love seeing other artist work areas. I can't ctand when I work (too hard on my knees) but I sit really high. Your line art looks great. Will you e painting it or working on color art on the computer?

Hi Alison-- I love seeing them too! I'll be painting this traditionally, with watercolors. Someday I'll try my hand at the digital stuff. Need a few more hours in the day first! Thanks for the nice comment. :-)

A neat space, and a neat cat. Comes naturally to them.
Lovely.

Like Alison, I can't work standing up. My poor veins don't like it. Thanks for the fun peek inside your workspace. :)
