I cannot tell you just how much I enjoyed that! He was a true genius. Regarding your observation in the last post about whther he wrote for children or adults I think that like the best kind of writers, he probably wrote for himself. My favourite Suess has to be the Lorax. It probably turned me into a 'Greenie' when I was only little!
My children loved Dr Seuss. I think Hop on Pop was the favorite. He was so 'out there' which is what all the best children's authors seem to be - a little off kilter like Carroll, Dahl etc.
I just bought Cole the DVD and the movies are awesome...and the adult messages are perfect...
ReplyDeleteHi Diana-- Isn't it interesting how they really don't go out of style?...
ReplyDeleteHope Cole enjoys! :-)

Hi Gretel-- I think you're probably right. He must have been an interesting character!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth-- Mine too. That was one that held up to a hundred and one readings. :-)
